Join artist Katie Fowlie for Wild Worries, a participatory workshop and evolving installation inviting the public to create biodegradable “Mosslings” from ethically foraged materials.

Suitable for ages 12+
Inspired by Scottish folk rituals and global traditions of entrusting worries to objects, you are invited to transform anxieties into small, living talismans that join a communal installation, later returning to the landscape to nourish new growth.
Each Mossling becomes a tactile ritual – a quiet vessel embodying worry, care and renewal.
What You Will Do
This workshop merges craft and ritual, fostering a space for quiet reflection, storytelling, and collective resilience.
Engage in slow, low-impact making that calms the mind and connects you to Fife’s ecology and cultural heritage.
Join this community-led ritual to reframe fear, nourish the soil, and spark dialogue between culture, ecology, and wellbeing.
What To Expect
Create your own quiet monuments to shared anxieties and hopes while calming your mind and connecting with Fife’s ecology and heritage. You can expect:
- A brief introduction to the project, materials, and local folklore.
- Guided hands-on crafting session using foraged materials to create your own Mossling.
- Learn sustainable techniques rooted in Fife’s ecology and industrial heritage.
- Engage in slow, tactile making that fosters reflection, collective care, and community resilience.
- Accessible and beginner-friendly; suitable for ages 12+
- Contribute to a living artwork that transforms personal worries into shared expressions of hope.
