Fife Contemporary are delighted to share with you the selected new makers who have completed our Materialise programme in 2026. Makers include Leah Faulks, Imogen Hales, Holly Munro, Anna Rooney and Roisin Spence.
This year, Materialise 8 brings together an exceptional group of graduate emerging designers and makers that were selected from Scottish universities in 2024. After co-developing a programme of business and creative opportunities with the group, the year concluded with a mini residency in the countryside of Fife. The residency included critical feedback sessions, building skills in photographing their own work with photographer Lydia Smith, and presenting creative workshop sessions to build confidence in teaching and audience engagement.
The Materialise 8 participants have put together a portfolio of recent work, and shared their learning and experiences of the programme in the Materialse 8 Online Exhibition.
Materialise is a platform and programme for new and emerging makers selected from graduating cohorts from across Scottish Art Schools. It is a supportive, co-developed, evolving range of activities that has spanned bursaries, professional development, residencies and online and in-person exhibition opportunities. Each year the Materialise programme is designed by the cohort themselves and aims to meet their specific, identified needs.
