Fife Contemporary at Fife Pride 2024!

This event has now passed.

Fife Contemporary are very excited to be at Fife Pride in Kirkcaldy, Saturday 29 June!

Fife Contemporary will be based at the Town House Square in Kirkcaldy on the day between 1-6pm. Drop in and make some button-badges using coloured bubble paper, create your own badge designs, learn about us and what we do, or just say hi!

The colourful bubble badges are inspired by the work of Lucy Pearl Petts and her vivid 3D-printed jewellery. Lucy Pearl Petts is the artist featured in this year’s Craft Pods, which can be found nearby at The Hive from 20 June – 23 July. Lucy’s iridescent colours and alluring forms draw inspiration from maximalist Queer aesthetics, and attempt to bring a sense of joy, intrigue and hope. Find out more about the Craft Pod Tour 2024.

Other Fife Pride events on the day include the Parade Walk starting from Fife College at 1pm, and The Hive are hosting the Youth Zone from 1.15-6.30pm, and the After Party from 7pm. Find out more about Fife Pride 2024.

Try making bubble art at home! The bubble paper is made by mixing acrylic paint, washing-up liquid, a tiny bit of water, and then blowing coloured bubbles over paper using a straw. Download the instruction sheet here.
