Fife-based sculptor Marion Smith focuses on making site-specific commissions that embody a considered understanding of their context. Working mostly in granite and bronze, her practice also incorporates drawing, painting, printmaking and photography. The things that make places unique, including their topography and history are key to developing her ideas. Marion has work permanently sited around the UK from Scalloway in Shetland to Southampton. Her first public commissions were in 1994. Research, consultation and community engagement are integral to all her public artworks.
