
Edward Summerton, RSA is a critically-acclaimed artist whose work has expanded from the practice of painting into photography, sound works, prints, objects, collaborations and the organisation of events and exhibitions. Based in rural Scotland, he has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and South Korea. He has work in private collections throughout the world and in public collections that range from The BBC to The Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Alongside is exhibiting career he is also a Senior lecturer and researcher at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and has also taught at Edinburgh College of Art. As a curator he has produced innovative exhibitions and projects that have included Dr. Skin, Blind Sight, Digital VD, Prints of Darkness, Between the Late and Early and Shelter Stone – The Artist and The Mountain. Collaborative publications and editions include Delayed By Storm (with Don Paterson), Diary of an Egg Collector (with Graham Fagen), and Fluid on a Druid (with Alan Grieve).
