Dear Earth artists write their own letters to earth, installed alongside images of their work on the Sharing Not Hoarding billboards on Dundee's Waterfront Development.
To reflect and expand on the Dear Earth exhibition, participating artists have contributed their own letter to the earth on the Sharing Not Hoarding billboards located along Dundee’s Waterfront Development. Here you will find the artists’ letters displayed alongside images of the their work and related practice.
Ranging from photography, printmaking, ceramic, found-objects and crafted installations, Dear Earth is an exhibition which addresses and reflects on the impact of human activity and the declining health of our planet. The artists in Dear Earth looks to a future with creativity and purpose in mind, and each work in this exhibition reflects care for the planet and the value of our efforts to save and understand it, offering a glimpse of hope and positive change.
Sharing Not Hoarding is an experimental public art project located along Dundee’s Waterfront Development which encourages public participation by engaging with artists and community partners. Using 18 billboard posters to create a vibrant dialogue of image, text and social media interactivity, the project provides opportunities for artists and the wider public to raise critical questions about our collective future, and to celebrate a diversity of voices and visions for the city.
