Meet Your Maker 2013

Sat 7 & Sun 8 September 2013, FCA&C @ St Andrews Museum (Kinburn Park, Doubledykes Road, St Andrews, KY16 9DP, tel 01334 659380; open 10am-5pm, admission free)

Meet your Maker first began in 2010 as one of Craft Scotland’s original campaigns held in the National Museums Scotland.

This year it has grown into a national showcase spread across eight Scottish venues to give more people the opportunity to witness this exciting event.

Working with eight Scottish venues committed to promoting and supporting Scottish craft, Craft Scotland will again showcase makers and their work to give the public a rare glimpse into their creative processes from the design stage through to production of the final pieces.

The events will give an insight into the skills, commitment and creativity involved in making craft, as well as the range of techniques designers and makers employ in their work.

Through Meet Your Maker 2013, Fife Contemporary Art & Craft is bringing Butter Wynd Pottery (Sean and Christine Kingsley) and textile artist Julia Complin to St Andrews Museum for the weekend. Sean and Christine make a wide range of domestic pottery using local clays and Julia is a weaver. All will be available during the weekend to discuss their work and give demonstrations.

For full details of all the 14 makers working in 8 venues during the weekend, go to the Meet Your Maker website.
