Sat 14 May 2011, 10am-4pm, Rothes Halls (Rothes Square, Glenrothes, Fife, KY7 5NX)
This will be the fifth annual forum for visual and craft artists organised by Fife Contemporary Art & Craft. For the last few, an artists’ steering group has helped with the planning stages and given the current climate, it was decided the theme for 2011 should be ‘Survival Tactics’.
Artists will talk about how they support their practice by leading classes (Kirsty Lorenz) and running a retail business (James Donald); and Colin Greenslade will talk about the RSA Residencies for Scotland programme. Artists from Cupar and Kirkcaldy based Blacksand will talk about their joint exhibition initiative (the preview of which will take place in Fifespace, Rothes Halls, immediately after the Forum, and to which all are invited). The day will be rounded off by a panel discussion featuring the speakers and artists Deirdre Nelson and Jeanette Sendler – with contributions from the floor of course!
The event is free including lunch and refreshments. Bookings can be made until Friday 6 May 2011. Click here to download a timetable.
