Cycling up the Hill with my Dad – Textiles-Claire Heminsley, Ceramics-David Heminsley

The exhibition celebrated and made links between the careers of two successful Scottish based makers who also happen to be father and daughter. While working in very different media they have shared similar stimulation for their work. Teaching has provided the opportunity for exchanges with other artists and being commissioned to make something for a particular client has provided discipline and focus. For both of them drawing has been key to their artistic development and in planning their work. Sketchbooks and other materials in the show gave an insight into their creative processes.
