Bubble n’ Bangle Workshop

Join Fife Contemporary at The Hive in Kirkcaldy for free, drop in workshop on Tuesday 16th July from 2 – 4pm!

Inspired by artist Lucy Pearl Petts and her vivid 3D-printed jewellery, we’ll be creating vibrant bubble prints on paper by mixing acrylic paint, washing-up liquid, a tiny bit of water, and then blowing coloured bubbles over paper using a straw. You can also try a bangle-making activity using bubble paper or colouring in your own.

Everyone is welcome to join but we ask that children under 8 are accompanied by an adult. We would recommend you wear something you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on – just in case!

Lucy Pearl Petts is the artist featured in this year’s Craft Pods, which are currently on display at The Hive until 23rd July 2024. Lucy’s iridescent colours and alluring forms draw inspiration from maximalist Queer aesthetics, and attempt to bring a sense of joy, intrigue and hope.

If you can’t attend the drop in, try making bubble art at home! Download the instruction sheet here.
