Playing in the foyer space of St Andrews Town Hall from 11 May – 23 Dec 2011.
This imaginative, short film was created as an alternative guide to the Fife Coastal Path and was part of a series of 3 residencies, organised by Fife Contemporary Art & Craft in conjunction with various Fife agencies, including the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust . The projects received funding from Fife Council’s Celebrating Fife 2010.
Five Fife Beaches was made by members from Fife’s adult resource centres with media artist Tracey McConnell-Wood. Together they visited 5 beaches between St Andrews and Aberdour, filming as they went. Digital animation techniques were then used to bring crabs, dancing mittens, talking rocks, seas and skies back to life.
The film has already had a special screening in The Steeple, Newburgh, and can now be seen in the foyer of St Andrews Town Hall, beside FCA&C’s office. It can also be viewed on FCA&C’s YouTube channel.
