Filmmaker AiR at North Lands Creative

North Lands Creative, British Council Scotland and Creative Scotland are pleased to announce applications are now open for a Filmmaker Artist in Residency as part of our Glass, Meets the Future project.

The residency is an opportunity for an artist with a moving image-based practice or a filmmaker to create a new work in collaboration with our Associate Artists who work in glass.

The residency intends to produce a short film that captures the choreography of the artists working in our hot shop studio.

The residency includes a bursary of £3,500 as well as a travel stipend, private accommodation and access to our studio.

The outcome of the residency will be premiered at the Toyama Glass Museum in Japan in May 2020 as part of the British Council Scotland Japan season. It is expected the artist/ filmmaker will travel to Japan for the premiere.

The final work’s presentation, format and exhibition context (either as an installation or cinema screening for instance) will be developed in collaboration with North Lands Creative and the project curatorial team in Toyama.

The residency is open to artists/ filmmakers currently resident in Scotland.
