BP Portrait Award

The BP Portrait Award has firmly established itself as the leading showcase for new talent, celebrating and promoting the very best in contemporary portrait painting. With its substantial prize fund and a high profile exhibition and tour, the Award continues the National Portrait Gallery’s long tradition of championing the work of the best portrait painters. Entry is open to everyone aged 18 and over.

The 2015 competition will have a new entry procedure. For the first stage of judging artists should submit a digital image of their work. The entrants who are successful in this round will then be invited to hand-deliver or courier their work to a judging venue in London for the final selection. More details will be announced when entry opens in November 2014.
