Edinburgh Contemporary Crafts

Edinburgh Contemporary Crafts provides high quality multi-disciplinary craft workshop facilities for: ceramics, jewellery, textiles, print and furniture for professional and the general public. Our gallery  showcases high-quality, original, British craft.

Generator Projects

Generator is a Dundee-based organisation established in 1996. The aim of the organisation is to generate vibrant cultures across Dundee through providing sustained support towards artistic practice in all its diversity and a varied programme of exhibitions and events.

Transmission

Transmission provides a place where artists can meet, talk and exhibit along with local and international peers and influences.  The gallery is managed by a voluntary committee of six people, each serving for up to two years.

Glenrothes Camera Club

Glenrothes Camera Club was established in the mid 1960s and has played a part in the history of Glenrothes providing photographs and images of local architecture and people for many of the towns exhibitions and presentations.  They meet at their own club rooms every Thursday at 7.30 pm.  Their doors are open to anyone with an interest in photography. No experience is necessary. Just enthusiasm and preferably a camera will be enough. Any type of camera will do.  Their season runs from the beginning of September through to the end of April.  In the off season (May to August) they still meet regularly on a Thursday evening and also run courses for beginners during this time.

Fire Station Creative

Fire Station Creative, Scotland’s newest creative hub, opens its door to the public on Sat 11 July 2015.

It is a charity that has been set up to renovate the iconic fire station on Carnegie Drive, Dunfermline, and make a centre for all things creative. It is a social enterprise so all profits made are reinvested in the facility and its projects.

Fife Dunfermline Print Workshop

Fife Dunfermline Print Workshop is an artist-run printmaking workshop established in 1981.  The workshop is located in the basement of an old Victorian building and is easily accessed by rail, bus and road.

The workshop is well equipped for a wide range of fine art printmaking including copper plate and zinc etching, water-based screenprinting, wood and linocut relief printing, collograph printing and various forms of monoprinting.  They have a Rochat etching press suitable for up to A1 paper size, a small mobile etching press, a relief press, a book press and two screen beds. Other equipment includes a hot plate, metal cutter, mount cutter, Grant projector, print racks, computer and scanner.

As an artists’ co-operative they have no paid staff.  They operate on a key access system with limited technical support provided on a voluntary rota basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Fife Craft Association

Fife Craft Association was founded in 1986.  Its aims are:

– To promote any activity which, in the opinion of the members, will further their collective and individual interests as craft workers.
– To raise the standards of crafts where possible.
– To make residents and visitors aware of the wide range of crafts produced in Scotland.
– To promote crafts by organizing craft fairs and exhibitions.
– To participate in joint advertising projects.
– To benefit from the exchange of ideas and experiences.

The association is run by a committee elected from and by, all members. The association is non-profit making, and is financed by members subscriptions. All applications for membership are considered.

Membership is open to anyone, in Scotland, who is interested in any aspect of craft work, whether they have a full or part time craft business, are teachers, students or amateurs.  Although the association is based in Fife, we accept members from all over Scotland.

East Neuk Open Studios

East Neuk Open Studios is a twice-yearly Art Trail taking in over 35 artist and designer studios and workshops throughout this beautiful corner of Fife, known as the East Neuk.  Twice a year, in Summer and Autumn, artists throw open their studio doors to welcome visitors and to demonstrate and talk about their work. There’s always an exciting range of paintings, textiles, prints, jewellery, illustrations, photographs, ceramics and furniture (even some bespoke wooden surf boards!) on sale too.  If you are a practising artist, designer or maker with a working studio based in the East Neuk and are interested in participating in ENOS please get in touch.

Dunfermline Photographic Association

The aim of the Association is to promote the practice and encouragement of the art of photography in all its branches.  This is done by means of a programme of competitions, talks, workshops, projects and outings.

The Association holds public exhibitions annually and takes part in a number of competitive events art regional and national level.

Membership is open to all and new members of all levels of ability are welcomed.  We meet during the season at the Dell Farquharson Community Leisure Centre, Nethertown Broad Street.

Dunfermline Art Club

The Dunfermline Art Club has a long history, having been formed in 1883!  It now meets in the basement studio of Townhill Community Centre every Tuesday evening from 7pm to 9pm and on Wednesdays from 11am to 4pm. The facilities are also available for use by members every evening, with the exception of weekends.  There are over 90 members and anyone over 18 years of age, who has an interest in art is welcome to join the club.
