Working Process – Wire Working

One technique that has remained with Cerys throughout her bursary development has been wire working. Cerys began to discover jewellery making through working with wire. Time spent researching and learning new techniques has helped her designs develop, whilst remaining true to this flexible and adaptable technique.

“One of the things I love most about working with wire is that is can feel very similar to textile. You can very how stiff or how much movement there is in a piece depending on the thickness of the wire or the tightness of the way you have wound or woven it together. You can get structure and solid forms, or softness and movement.”
