It’s funny how you put up with things, even when there are ways of making them better. Take my much-loved Toast cardigan: worn for many years and made of fine lambswool, it had gradually fallen apart under the arms with large holes appearing between the various seams.

Then Covid-19 hit and while browsing a Tea Green online event, I came across the Visible Mending skills of Flora Collingwood-Norris and had a lightbulb moment!  My stitching may be wonky, but with Flora’s kit of instructions and coloured wools, I made a repair that I reckon even my mum (or granny) would be pleased with. And it felt so appropriate to save something in these uncertain times, rather than just buy new.
