Sophie-Nicole Dodds

Just before Lockdown I had gone to my parents’ house and was working on a project brief called ‘Caretakers’. I found I was responding to the practice of being in the familiar, yet heightened domestic space within the family home. Making, doing and cleaning out of necessity, obsession and care and how these can bridge parental relationships by using the physicality of a house. I then sent out ‘Darning Care Kits’ to friends to teach them mending to do within their parent’s homes. These are the darning pages from a manual I produced called ‘A Domestic Residency At My Parents’ House’.
