Craft Pods’ tour

The Craft Pods’ display features a bowl, plate and cup from Sara’s Circular Ceramics’ Collection.
Their respective dimensions are:
Bowl – diameter 157mm, height 65mm
Plate – diameter 223mm, height 30mm

In one of the small drawers in the information pod you can find several examples of the many test tiles Sara made, while trying out different glaze options. In fact, she made over 200 of these small tiles!

And in the other drawer are examples of 3 types of waste materials:
glass waste, quarry waste, and stone waste

Artists’ Environmental Resource
If you’re already interested in creating more sustainably, you may also be interested in visiting our Artists’ Environmental Sharespace. At its heart is a document of useful resources to support artists who are trying to make a difference.

With her Circular Ceramics’ Collection, Sara has shown that it is possible to design out waste from ceramic production, creating items that are still attractive and fit for purpose. If you are making in a similar way, we’d love to hear from you!
