I bought a size 24 (!) Black Watch tartan ladies’ kilt in a second-hand shop in 2020 and remade it into a dress. The shop took this photo and posted it on their Facebook page. For me though, this tartan has a deeper meaning as my father, Andrew Porteous from Methil, wore a Black Watch tartan kilt when fighting in the Great War. He was a signaller in the Seaforth Highlanders; I’m convinced he is the soldier in the foreground in this photo from the trenches. He died at home in Leven aged 90 in 1989.
