Robert Callender A2B @ Lochgelly Centre

Robert Callender (1932-2011) made work resulting from his intense focus on the coast. He said he had ‘an ongoing interest in that narrow strip of land
between high and low water, and my progressive response to an even closer examination of the fate of the material found there, whether it be natural
or man-made, as it rejoins and is absorbed back into the landscape.’

This exhibition celebrates the ideas, working methods and continuing influence of the late Kinghorn based Scottish artist Robert Callender’s substantial creative output. Still recognised as the ultimate in the craft of art making, Callender’s work employs an exquisite level of precision to explore the relationship between environment, inhabitants and coast.

A Fife Contemporart Art & Craft touring exhibition, presented in association with Lateral Lab.
