Materialise

Online Graduate Maker Exhibition 2017

Welcome to our first online makers’ exhibition which showcases the work of emerging, innovative and new makers who are based or studied in Scotland.

Fife Contemporary has an interest in work that challenges the boundaries of visual art, craft, and design. In this online exhibition is a selection of makers who stood out to us as we visited the 4 major art schools in Scotland. In the last year they have been working towards a collection of work, researching areas of self-interest, exploring possibilities of materials, and pin-pointing their voice as a maker – not to forget all those long days in the studio and all-nighters!

Many thanks to the makers involved in our first ever Online Maker Exhibition. They have been patient and generous with their time, access to their work and creative processes.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art and Gray’s School of Art for giving their time to support our pilot year.

We hope that we can provide a platform to showcase these new, talented makers to a wider international audience, demonstrate their high level of professionalism and reinforce the importance of making and the individual journey each artist takes to create a body of work.
