Heat Exchange II Symposium


This day symposium will focus on enamel as a precious metal technique to complement the international touring exhibition Heat Exchange II  (http://heat-exchange.crimsoncactus.net/about/).

Taking place on Friday 19 February 2016, the event will begin at St Andrews Museum (Kinburn Park, Doubledykes Road, St Andrews, KY16 9DP) with registration and an infomal tour of the exhibition, Heat Exchange II.  The remaining part of the event then takes place at the Byre Theatre (Abbey Street, St Andrews, KY16 9LA):

Registration at St Andrews Museum with tea & coffee
Informal visit of Heat Exchange II exhibition

11.30am 
Walk across town to Byre Theatre Studio Theatre
(lifts arranged for participants with mobility problems)

Noon-1 
Introductory curator’s talk + questions (Elizabeth Turrell)

1-2pm  
Lunch provided at Byre / networking

2-3pm
A Gloss on Enamel (a brief history of the use of enamel, with a focus on studio enamelling) by Dr Elizabeth Goring plus questions

3-4.15pm
Short case studies by 6 Scottish-based practitioners: Karolina Baines, Stephen Bottomley, Susan Cross, Jessica Howarth , Ann Little, Heather McDermott

4.15-4.30pm
Summing up and close

Cost for the day’s symposium, including lunch and refreshments is £10 for students / £20 full price.
