Falkland Estate – Trail of Thought

The Trail of Thought is a meandering journey of playful, typographic carvings, designed to encourage mindfulness and celebration of the landscape underneath the Lomond Hills.

Created for Fife Contemporary by artist/designer Sebastian Chaloner, and actor/writer Lesley Acheson, the Trail of Thought gives you a free rein to discover the hidden artworks as you walk within Falkland Estate, up and around the Temple of Decision. There is no right or wrong route – but we’ve provided a map to help you find all 7 of them!

Click here to go to our microsite where you will find the map and more information about the Trail of Thought and also Falkland Estate. The Trail length is approximately 7km (nearly 4.5 miles), so a good way to tire out walkers of all ages (but thankfully there is respite available from The Stables Hub and also Pillars of Hercules!).

We are encouraging car-driving visitors to the Trail to use the larger Forest of Falkland Gateway carpark (near Pillars).

Many thanks to Falkland Estate and the Woodland Hub for partnering us in this summer project!
