Crafting Identities – Fife Contemporary in Conversation with Cat Dunn

To celebrate Black History Month 2022, Fife Contemporary hosted a free online talk and conversation with curator and researcher Cat Dunn. She talked about her previous curatorial projects and the evolution of her practice as a jeweller and curator. Her work creates dialogue about social identity and engages potentially divisive subjects such as colonialism, slavery, racism and feminism, with openness and clarity.

This talk also introduced an exciting new collaboration between Cat Dunn and Fife Contemporary, Crafted Selves: The Unfinished Conversation, showcasing the work of 13 artists exploring dial identities in their work. Opening at St Andrews Museum on 14 October 2023 before touring to Kirkcaldy, the exhibition will share works in sculpture, painting, ceramics, textiles, installation, moving image films and creative writing responses.
