Kirkcaldy Museum & Art Gallery has just re-opened after moving their shop area from the first floor to the ground floor. See below to find out what’s on display.
Since June 2007 FCA&C have been exhibiting contemporary ceramics at Kirkcaldy Museum & Art Gallery. Given the town’s strong history in studio ceramics – Wemyss Ware et al – it seemed appropriate to display a changing selection of contemporary ceramics in the Museum & Art Gallery to complement its colourful show of historical pieces.
On display from early Feb 2010 – and available for sale from the Museum shop – are the fabulous black underglazed pots by Susan McGill, Kirkcaldy, and paperclay jewellery (based on the sea) and beakers and spoons (based on archaeological finds) by Edinburgh based Jenny Pope.
Ceramics by Tracey Birchwood, Gavin Burnett, Laura Campbell of Campbelfirth, Sue Candy, Clare Gage, Beverley Gee, Ralph Jandrell, Lisa Katzenstein, Hannah McAndrew of Barm Pottery, and Karen Welsh have also been on display.
EXHIBITIONS OF CERAMICS AT KIRKCALDY MUSEUM BY FCA&C FINISHED IN LATE 2010.
