Sarah Jacobs (Syrah Jay)

I trained at Duncan of Jordonstone college of art and design in printed textiles. After graduating I spent time developing my skills in textiles and crafts by participating in workshops, volunteering and completing a residency for Angus council education department.

I first opened for business in 2007, with a range of handmade felted jewellery and accessorises, combining traditional wet felting , needle felting and sewing techniques. I sell my designs up and down the U.K. through a number of galleries and boutiques and seasonal craft events.

Along with selling my own work I also teach a variety of  art and craft skills from felting, sewing, jewellery making, paper crafts and printmaking and I am available  for talks , demonstrations as well as workshops.

I love to create bold, colourful items, I take my inspiration from all manner of sources from art, photography and architecture to the world of fashion, interior design and of course craft but the people I meet in my workshops have proven to be the most influential.
