Sandra Wilson is a Professor of Ecological Metal Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, part of the University of Dundee. Her research is funded by various UK research councils and her award-winning jewellery and silversmithing is exhibited internationally. Her current research explores recovering precious metals from electronic waste such as computer circuit boards and mobile phones to create new artefacts and surface finishes.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to learn about the process that Sandra has been using to recover her precious metals from electronic waste. A series of interactive prints will also provide information on how much electronic waste we are generating. Sandra will also present a new vessel made from recycled silver with gold embellishment from electronic waste.
