Janette Ayachi

Janette Ayachi is a Scottish-Algerian poet based in Edinburgh with an MSc in Creative Writing from Edinburgh University. Her work has been widely published in over sixty literary journals and anthologies including New Writing Scotland, Gutter, Best British Poetry Anthology 2015, Magma and Oxford Poetry. She has been shortlisted for various literary accolades, was the winner of the Barbara Burford prize from The Young Enigma Awards 2014 and was Digital Poet in Residence for The Poetry School earlier this year. Her film-poem collaboration On Meeting a Fox was officially selected for the Visible Verse Festival in Vancouver. She edits the online arts journal The Undertow Review and performs her poetry across the UK at events and festivals. She is the author of poetry pamphlets Pauses at Zebra Crossings and A Choir of Ghosts, and is currently working on her first full poetry book Hand Over Mouth Music and a memoir entitled Misdialing The Muses.
