Gemma Coyle

Gemma Coyle is based in Edinburgh but has Fife connections through the Fizzy Milk education project which she co-runs in Inverkeithing.

She studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art, completing an MFA in 2005. Awards include the Andrew Grant Travel Scholarship, RSA John Kinross Scholarship and RSA Stuart Award among others. In 2002 she carried out a residency with Taigh Chearsabbagh in North Uist and she has exhibited widely since 2002 with a solo exhibition at the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock in 2005. Collections which have acquired work by her include the Dick Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy. In 2008 she received an Edinburgh Visual Arts & Crafts Artists Award to create work based around her piece 'Bonnie Biro Caravan' to be exhibited at the Patriothall exhibition space, Edinburgh in February 2009.
