Placement exhibition opens in Wales

‘Placement – Ceramic Connections: Wales & Scotland’ opened a few days ago at the Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown, Powys.  FCA&C have been collaborating with Oriel Davies on this exhibition and it’s exciting to see it started at last.

The exhibition’s curators, ceramic artists Lowri Davies (Wales) and Dawn Youll (Scotland), selected work that looked at how ceramics is used in contemporary art, with a Welsh or Scottish link.  As well as themselves, there’s work by Stephen Bird, Claire Curneen, Ken Eastman, Nick Evans, Laura Ford, Anne Gibbs, Cecile Johnson Soliz, David Shrigley, and Conor Wilson.  The exhibition will be shown in Wales until 6 July and then moves to St Andrews Museum to be shown in two parts during the autumn – Part 1:  17 Sept – 16 Oct, and Part 2:  22 Oct – 20 Nov.  Various events will be organised to coincide with the Scottish showing and will be publicised in the coming week.

Details on the exhibition can be found on FCA&C’s website and images from the installation in Wales can be seen now on our Facebook page.
