'Turn the Corner' continues in the Town Hall

If you enjoy poetry (and maybe even paid a visit to some of the StAnza Poetry Festival events recently), you can still see some poetic writings reproduced in banner format by calligrapher Susie Leiper  in the St Andrews Town Hall foyer.

Produced last weekend in a demonstration of her writing skills during StAnza, the banners on show display different calligraphic styles, reflecting the nature of the text to a certain extent and were part of the ‘Turn the Corner – Art in Unexpected Places’ exhibition.  This was a collaborative project by Fife Contemporary Art & Craft and University of St Andrews postgrad students, in association with StAnza.  While the other work in the exhibition has all been dismantled now, Susie Leiper’s banners, a film by Pat Law, and photographs of the other installations will all be on display in the Town Hall until 12 April.  After that, a series of creative writing responses to the exhibition will replace them, which will run until 30 April.  The Town Hall is open Mon-Fri during normal working hours (and occasionally at weekends) and there is no admission.  For more details, please see FCA&C’s website and also the one for ‘Turn the Corner‘.
