Daniel Shand was mentored by Louise Fraser. The work he produced explored aspects of photography - carefully placed signs photographed in unexpected locations. He also shared a mini residency with Louise at Kirkcaldy Museum & Art Gallery’s ‘The Living Room’, which they turned into their studio for several days, inviting members of the public to join in with drawing related activities.
Viewforth High School in Kirkcaldy was built in 1908 and is a non-denominational, co-educational secondary school. Its original building is a fine period building, in keeping with others in the surrounding area. Behind this are parts added at various stages in the school’s development. The school’s aim is to create an ethos within the school environment where pupils, parents and staff work together to provide the highest possible standard of education for all pupils.
