St Andrews Museum, 12 September - 1 November 2009

Contemporary Jewellery from Galerie Marzee on show in Fife, Scotland
Fife Contemporary Art & Craft are pleased to announce that a selection of Galerie Marzee's contemporary jewellery collection will be on show at St Andrews Museum, 12 September - 1 November 2009.

Galerie Marzee in Nijmegen, Netherlands, is the largest known gallery in the world dedicated to innovative contemporary jewellery (its displays extend over 4 floors of a former grain store. Its director, Marie-José van den Hout, has built an extensive collection of some of the best international contemporary jewellery over the last 30 years. The St Andrews show will be billed as part of the anniversary celebrations, and is being done in partnership with Fife Libraries & Museums and the Falkland Centre for Stewardship.

On show with the jewellery will be photographic portraits taken by 'broad daylight' (Tricia Malley and Ross Gillespie) of 24 prominent Fifers wearing the jewellery at a pre- exhibition luncheon event. Marie-José has personally chosen the pieces to compliment each individual guest attending the event. Providing the perfect backdrop to the event is the House of Falkland with its impressive arts and crafts interiors. Internationally renowned chef Christopher Trotter will be preparing the food for the guests.
