Cupar Arts

Cupar Arts is a non-profit arts organisation which was formed in 2008. Their next event, the 2011 Cupar Arts Festival which will take place in October, will be a visual arts festival, also incorporating a smaller programme of music, performance, and workshops. Emphasis is on cutting-edge, innovative projects, many of which are created specifically for the Cupar Arts Festival, and which are presented at venues and sites across the town, drawing attention to the unique character of the area and providing artists with opportunity to create and show work in an unusual number of sites and locations in a rural setting. In addition to the selected programme, Invited Artists of considerable standing lend their support to the event, thus augmenting a growing national profile. 2011 Invited Artists are Richard Demarco, Kate Downie, and Chad McCail. The 2011 Artist in Residence post creates further opportunity for an artist to engage with the community, and to develop and create a project specifically for the festival.
