Applying for grants and funding can be, for many people, like taking a walk across a minefield!
This is a brief list which points at various opportunities available to Fife artists. As with all funding, however, it is recommended that would-be applicants check the original source before making an application, as fuller details may be available. We will add to this list as we get more information.
Grants and Funding Available
- Cupar Arts Festival Visual Arts Award
- Cupar Arts & Heritage Project (CAHP) have offered a visual arts award for a past festival. Their structure is currently changing from an annual festival to biannual and it is unclear if the award will be continued. Please check their website for more details.

- Visual Artists and Craft Awards Scheme: Fife in partnership with Creative Scotland
- These awards are funded by Creative Scotland (formerly the Scottish Arts Council) and Fife Council, administered by Fife Council, Fife Contemporary Art & Craft, and ON at Fife (formerly ATTFife). Funding has been secured for 2011/12 and the guidelines' document for the scheme, plus the 2 application forms, can be downloaded below. Please phone FCA&C if you have any problems downloading these documents. - Creativefife/Business Gateway Fife
- Cultural Enterprise Office (CEO) is Scotland’s specialist business support and development service for creative businesses and practitioners. Operating across Scotland our hub office is based in Glasgow with satellite offices in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh. The full range of services is designed to enable practitioners to translate their talent into flourishing careers and sustainable businesses.

- Creativefife is a one stop shop for information on business improvement initiatives including grant funding. With close links to Business Gateway Fife it has direct access to a range of Business advisory services including those who manage Fife Council’s Financial Assistance for Small Business scheme.

- Culture Grants are also available from Fife Council, aimed at encouraging and supporting creativity in local communities and is open to individuals (from £50 to £300) and groups (from £100 to £1000). The scheme covers literature, performance, heritage, audio-visual, and visual arts/crafts. The grant can be applied for at any time throughout the year.

Complete the relevant sections in each form and return to Gordon Hynd (Housing & Communities, Fife Council, Rothesay House, Glenrothes, KY7 5PQ). - Pittenweem Arts Festival Bursary Awards
- As part of its commitment to encouraging promising new artists, the Festival each year awards two bursaries aimed particularly at artists who, for financial reasons, could not consider taking part in the Festival. Applications are welcomed from artists who can show a connection to Fife, and who are either final year students or graduates of the last 5 years from any Scottish School of Art. Selection will be made by the Festival's Visual Arts Committee; the two award winners are provided with rent free exhibition venues, their registration fee is paid by the Festival and expenses of £200 are given in advance. Deadline for applications is 1 March 2011 .
