Across the county, there are 9 museums, 2 heritage sites and Fife's Mobile Museum (MAC). As well as permanent displays, the Museum Service collects material, preserving the culture and heritage of Fife for future generations. In addition a number of other services are offered, such as loan boxes for schools & community groups, an identification service, temporary exhibitions, special events & children's activities.

Fife Libraries
Nine Fife libraries offer picture rails for the hanging of artworks by local artists - Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, Glenwood, Kinghorn, Ladybank, Leven, Pittenweem, St Monans, and St Andrews. Artists are asked to contact the specific library directly and are recommended to visit first to assess the suitability for their work. Exhibitions are hung by library staff. There is also a shop in Duloch Library (and Kirkcaldy & St Andrews Museums) where art/craft work can be sold if deemed suitable.

Three NTS properties in Fife have separate rooms/buildings that are suitable for exhibition spaces. In general these are unsupervised areas and any group using them would have to be present at all times. Prices range from each property and space and it is advised that any interested party contacts the Property Managers in order to visit the properties and discuss costs and other requirements.
