Artist Resource

As a result of our successful Artists' & Makers' in Fife Forum in 2007, we decided to dedicate an area of the Fife Contemporary Art & Craft website to a variety of artist resources.

It is hoped that these sections will prove particularly useful for artists working in Fife - or visitors who would like to know more about what is available for artists in Fife.

The different areas we've concentrated on are by no means exhaustive. Please get in touch with us if you feel something has been omitted, or if details are wrong. While we do our best to be accurate, this cannot always be guaranteed.

Creative Exchange

This idea was introduced to the Forum by jeweller Dot Sim and FCA&C's Diana Sykes. Dot had the inspiration and FCA&C are happy to administer a pilot to get it all started. The idea was to give artists/makers the chance to have a day (or a half day) out to refresh themselves creatively by meeting up with a fellow practitioner. It might just be a day of discussions (or moans!), but there may be a creative element - all up to the individuals concerned.

At the moment, participants are arranging meetings with each other - we'll report back on how it all went in the autumn.

Scrap Exchange Challenge exhibition

Another project initiated at the 2010 Forum. Artists brought a shoebox of their scrap materials to swap with someone else's. They then had two and a half months to create an artwork from what they received. The fabulous results can be seen this summer in the foyer of St Andrews Town Hall, beside the FCA&C office.
