
Crawford Centre for the Arts founded by the University of St Andrews with funding from the Scottish Arts Council. The Studio Theatre opened in autumn '77 with 'The White Devil' and the galleries opened in January '78 with the exhibition, 'Leonid Pasternak'.
Crawford Arts Centre created as an independently managed charitable company. Buildings leased from the University and financial support from the Scottish Arts Council, North East Fife District Council and Fife Regional Council.
Fife Contemporary Art & Craft (FCA&C) created with the closure of the Crawford Arts Centre. A new agency with charitable status delivering activity across the whole of Fife with a range of partners. Office base established in St Andrews Town Hall. Awarded Scottish Arts Council Foundation Funding status and financial support also increased by Fife Council.
mounted exhibitions by artists including Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Hamish Fulton, Deirdre Nelson and David Tremlett
hosted residencies and fellowships for artists including Nathan Coley, Peter Howson, Tracy Mackenna and Kate Whiteford
produced offsite projects highlighting Fife's rich natural and historical environment with artists such as Jim Buchanan and Christina McBride.
